- All types and all animals ( be it cow or pig or chicken or even fish) cruelty be evaluated and stopped world wide regardless of religion and desh.
We all talk about animals but how about the humans ?????? We are so cruel
to our poor brethren in billion who are living breathing feeling and thinking
humans but we do not care about them.
We just met Sadananda Swami of Adi Shankracharya tradition. He was so much
in pain with the recent condition of Hinduism and related and we discussed
about that subject . But he almost cried when he said - the rich are sucking
the poor people - make them work hard labor all day long and they just get
coupe of hundred rupees - how they can survive day to day life, think of
praying or even buying a small book or saving the Hindu dharma. The rich
should not exploit the poor and should pay well so, he can also think of GOD.
In my three months stay, i have also seen the apathy, ill-treatment and
cruelty of well-off people towards the servant class (so-called) in abundance.
It just breaks my heart. Until we the well-off Hindus of India change our
attitude towards this working class shramajivis (blue color workforce) , even
saving the cow will not save Hindu dharma. I don't mean to be pessimistic
but that is reality.
- All cow lovers want that keeping cow technology be no profit - no loss
business. And if that is not immediately possible, we can think in terms of
sterilizing cows like in Rajasthan, where they are firing dart on Nilgai
which will make it sterile.
- Thanks for the compilation of the articles -
must have taken quite some time.. Quite a large source of information.
I am certain the gorakshaa is a good and worthy cause. I am not undermining
the need for goraksha.
However, our Hindu society in India and elsewhere is quite fond of using
milk in rituals and in preparing sweets such as SHrikhand, rasmalai, sandesh,
chumcham, pedaa, rabari (milk paayas) and what not. Oh !!! and not to forget
those most flavorful and divinely tasting and cooling ice-creams - And how
can we forget Ghee...
Here are question to ponder upon...
Are we the COW LOVERS prepared to let go off the excess usage of milk in our daily consumption ?
Are we prepared to have dairy owners stopping the artificial insemination
of cows to keep them pragnant in perpetuity until their death or leading to
their death?
Are we the COW WORSHIPERS and our spiritual leaders ready to denounce usage
of unnecessary use of milk in rituals- During Shivaratri, and so many other
religious festivals ?
Are our leaders and Cow-protectors willing to work with dairy owners (
mind you that they are also Hindus) to suffer the business losses due to
reduction in milk production if done by natural means ?
Are we prepared to have all the natural resources (such as water, land,
and grass etc which are already in short supplies in INDIA) diverted towards
keeping all the non-milking cows alive until their natural demise ?
Are we the HINDUS ready to substitute milk with other sources for the same
nutrients and formulate products ?
Have we prepared a back up plan for such nutritional supplements ? OR ARE
WE JUST HYPOCRATES going with the flow for cow protection without giving
up anything in return and modify our rituals and eating preferences to an
extent ?????
Are we ready to have a sane and level headed dialogue at the national level ??
I must confess that i have a bad habit of chai with milk and joy of
ice-creams and is the transgression (paap) I am fully and painfully aware
and know for sure of the consequences either in this or after life per law
of Karma theory. The beautiful eyes of cows stand in front of me and i am
still gulping the cup of chai and bawl of ice-cream ..It is pathetic but i
know my lack of will. And yes, as a female, I would really really hate to
be barefoot and pregnant for several years artificially.... I have a choice
but the cows don't....
One can google the youtube on artificial insemination process and some are extremely graphic...
- Thanks for taking time to find about gomata, because if right
balance could be formed between cattle and agriculture a lot of farmers
could be benefitted and the agricultural economy and even world environment
can be saved.. and i believe that our rishis must have seen some remarkable
spiritual and scientific aspects on cow that could save earth from drastic
consequences.
I had opprtunity to read go-ank , goseva ank, dhenumanas granth. If you are
interested you can read free online books of rajiv dixit on gomata , there
are three books published by godham pathmeda on cows of which i read one called
gavo jagat matrah , and rest two called gavarchan prayog, and surbjhistotravali.
There are books gavo jaganmatrah of godham pathmeda , and rest
The books on gomata on your site will be beneficial to
gau devotees, because our ancient smritis are full
of information on cows but they are not available to common people to read
in Hindi so that they can apply them in daily lives and develop reverence
for cattle that used to be in past. There is one book called krishi parashar
or rishi krishi which tells about agriculture as to be practiced naturally
and also about role of gaumata in that , but that book is hard to find.
- Let me quote the sermons of Malukaapeetha Acharya Rajendra Das ji -
If you can not bring up a cow, you can donate to Gaushala. And since then,
one of my sisters is contributing to.
The other person I know is Shri Shwetashva Chauhan who is at present engaged
in farming. He reported that in Pilibhit, there are hoards of cows which come
in 250 or so numbers and destroy fields. They yield very less milk. What is
the way out?
