The files samplerig.* on this site are related to portion of Rigveda sample. (Rigveda 1.89 and 1.90) The entire Rigveda electronics transliterated text is available. The encoding work was done by Dr. Ananthanarayana in the 70ties under the guidance of Prof. W.P. Lehmann (lehmann@utxvms.cc.utexas.edu) .txt original file received (with upper cases converted to lower cases) .s1 just rearranged so that the shloka has correct(?) break and is carried on only two lines (four lines for four line shloka is preferred but someone who did encoding and numbering did not give correct breaks.) Accent marks ! are retained but there is only one instead of udaatta, svarita etc. .s Converted file as input to ITRANS for Devanagari processing. One could easily go from .s1 to Velthuis devnag convention or anyother. .ps Output devanagari. This is with larger fonts. The other files have smaller font with two column printout.
